About the firm
Ilona Agivaeva
Barrister & Solicitor
A boutique Toronto practice built around direct access to your lawyer, in three areas where responsiveness changes the outcome: personal injury, real estate, and civil litigation.

Why the firm exists
Ilona founded Agivaeva Law out of a passion for delivering client-centered service with the pace of a large firm and the attention of a boutique practice. The firm is devoted to zealous advocacy and a results-driven approach to resolving disputes. Ilona's prior experiences have informed the standard of service at Agivaeva Law, where law is practiced the way she believes it should be practiced: one lawyer, one file, one direct line, without layers of intakes, files passing between hands, or long silences between updates.
Ilona's work spans serious injury claims, real estate transactions all across Ontario, and civil disputes, with a preference for early clarity over prolonged conflict and a fearless willingness to litigate when clarity and compromise are refused. Ilona earned her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2019 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, and various administrative tribunals. Ilona is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Toronto Lawyers' Association, and the Advocates' Society.
How she works
- One lawyer, one file
- Ilona takes on a limited number of files at a time, so the person who assesses your matter is the person who runs it — start to finish.
- A candid read, early
- You will hear the realistic range of outcomes and the reasons for it, including when a claim is weak or when settling is the better commercial decision. Early clarity is cheaper than late clarity.
- Responsive by design
- Calls and emails are answered promptly, and you are told what happens next and roughly when. Most anxiety in a legal matter comes from silence rather than bad news.
- Fees explained in writing
- The basis of the fee, disbursements, and HST are explained and confirmed in writing before any work begins.
